Notice from the Scottish Government

Dear Parent

We have received notice from the Scottish Government that they are taking steps that will remove the statutory duty on education authorities to make 1140 hours of early learning and childcare (ELC) available to each eligible child from 1 August 2020.

The current response to the COVID 19 pandemic means that our plans that were progressing towards full implementation from August 2020 are now under review.

Over the next few weeks we will be assessing the impact of this and the guidance coming from Scottish Government. Please be assured that we remain committed to providing 1140 hours of ELC to the children and families of North Ayrshire as soon as practical and to keeping you updated with information as soon as it is available.
