Our Babyroom provides a safe, secure, fun environment for your child to explore. We are registered for twelve children, between 6weeks and 2years, looked after by 4 qualified nursery nurses.

Staff are all familiar with the new document "Pre-birth to three" and promote these guidelines in our playroom. This document acknowledges a keyworker system offering security, reassurance and continuity for children in our care.

Our staff to child ratio is 1:3 and we work very closely with parents/carers both verbally and through our daily diary system. Keyworkers and parents are encouraged to use this system to communicate the child's routine throughout the day.

Our facilities include a main playroom, with a varied range of toys and activities suited to the age and stage of development of the children in the room. Activities on offer include messy play, outdoor play, heuristic play and a treasure basket. Other facilities include a kitchen area for food preparation and sterilization, a sleep area for the comfort of the child and a changing area offering privacy and dignity during nappy changes. Our private outdoor play area enables the children to explore and develop in the fresh air.

The definition of the Key worker approach is taken from the Pre-birth to three document

"The Key person approach is a way of working in settings which the whole focus and organisation is aimed at enabling and supporting close attachments between children and individual staff."

We have some availability in this age group, please contact the nursery to discuss your requirements. We look forward to hearing from you.

Treasure Basket

A good activity for babies to explore natural materials and resources. As you can see from the photographs this child is clearly  having the best fun, pulling out the items from the basket, using hand and eye co-ordination, exploring his senses through touch, sight, sound and taste.

Messy Play

Spaghetti and shaving foam, what a texture !! A good activity exploring the child’s senses through touch, sight and smell. Developing speech and language, hand and eye co-ordination, great messy fun !

Painting

Children love messy play, this could be using sponges and paint of various colours, to make a beautiful picture. She is using hand and eye co-ordination, enjoying developing her speech and language skills and having fun exploring the texture of the paint.

Outdoor Play

Good fun exploring natural surroundings. These two children are enjoying each others company playing in and out of the playhouse, chatting to each other. Developing their social skills.
